A few of my favorite things: Coffee Talk!

A few of my favorite things: Coffee Talk!

When I travel, the first thing I do is make a list of must-try spots. In this post, I’ll share my favorite South Walton coffee shops.

For me, there is an energy and personality to be found in a good cafe. If they also serve amazing food? Bonus! If you are a local, you know these two are the place to be.

Black Bear Bread Co. is my favorite stop for breakfast & coffee. The vibe and atmosphere reminds me of being in a cool, quaint New York City coffee shop. It’s busy and buzzing with energy. Soon their popular Shops of Grayton cafe will be one of two locations, a second Black Bear is coming this Summer to Grand Boulevard!

The coffee served at Black bear is Stumptown Coffee Roasters out of Portland, Oregon. It has a bold flavor and I absolutely love their Vanilla Lattes. My go-to breakfast is the grain bowl with poached egg on top or lox on an Asiago Bagel. They whip the cream cheese and it is beyond delicious. When it comes to grabbing pastries, I usually prefer savory ones, but it is hard not to want to try allllll their goodies! For a perfectly balanced treat, go for the salted chocolate chip cookie.

If venturing towards Sandestin, you must make a special trip to 2 Birds Cafe. The talented owners are top notch and as friendly as can be!

Lots of love and creativity is poured into their menu. My favorite is The Roasted Veggie as a grain bowl and add fresh grilled shrimp! They use French Truck Coffee out of New Orleans and I am not a coffee aficionado, but I find it is super smooth. I get a Vanilla Latte every time. My husband goes for the BLT and everyone in our family loves their mini cinnamon sugar donuts. Be sure to follow them on Instagram because their Funky Fancy Dinners are also not to be missed. These have limited seating and are announced periodically. If you can get in, definitely go while you are in town!
